MoodJam: Introducing Achievements

New users of the updated MoodJam would notice that the number of moods they can post is limited to 3 colors. Many contacted me that this limitation prevented them from expressing their moods. Today, I released a new feature called MoodJam Achievements that gives users the ability to post more expressive moods as the number of moods they post increases.

Here's how it works. In the beginning, a new user can only post a mood with 1 color. After posting her first mood, she is rewarded with her first achievement: the Two Colors Badge. This means she can now post moods with two colors. As she posts more moods, the number of colors she can use increases up to six colors. Each increase in number of colors is associated with a badge that are visible in the user's achievement page (Here is my achievement page). Below is a table of how many moods users have to post to gain a particular number of colors.

# of recorded moods 0 1 3 7 15 31
# of colors 1 2 3 4 5 6

MoodJam Achievements is not limited to badges that reward users with increasing number of colors. In the future, I will release new badges that are associated with new features, such as new visualizations and new color palettes.
